Kingdom crosses $3m line; Lou struggles at $40,000
Animal Kingdom has made $3,160,736 since its June 3 release, according to distributor Madman Entertainment.
In its fourth week, the David Michod crime drama had 77 screens in Australia and it is likely to overtake Beneath Hill 60 (Paramount/Transmission, $3,172,243) as the third highest grossing local film of 2010 – and the most successful limited release with under 100 screens.
It will then be behind Bran Nue Dae (Roadshow, $7.56m) and The Kings of Mykonos: Wog Boy 2 (Paramount/Transmission, $4.8m).
This weekend, Kingdom reached #7 at the box office, behind Toy Story 3 (Disney, $7.4m, new), Shrek Forever After (Paramount, $2.78m), Grown Ups (Sony, $2.7m, new), Get Him to the Greek (Universal, $1.4m), Sex and the City 2 (Roadshow, $1.28m) and The A-Team (Fox, $967,913).
