Kyle: Don’t be a dickhead
Regular readers might be forgiven for thinking Dr Mumbo takes a cynical stance when it comes to Kyle Sandilands. However, today he takes his hat off to the KiisFM shock jock as he supports an anti-violence campaign led by nightclub owner John Ibrahim: Don’t be a dickhead.
Kyle can be seen here stepping in to break up a fight on the street.
Unfortunately for the campaign, the association of Sandilands may have drawn a few harsh comments from the friendly mob on YouTube:

Do you get paid to write this badly ?

If you had the time to watch the video, you’d see that Kyle was not in the scene regarding the taxi. It was the shoulder bump scene.
And as for the typo…. well, we all make a few from time to time.

I can confirm Dr Mumbo only gets paid in three-day-old canapés and bottles of cheap red wine -hence the occasional mistakes which I’ve stepped in to fix.

Kyle may be a dick head – but i wonder whether this was the intention of the content and part of the reason people are actually talking about this important issue. It’s the first message I’ve seen on this topic that has hit the mark
The fact that they’ve headed to the cross for a night out implies they are all dickheads to start with. But aside from that, people who are drunk are not resonable, so I can’t see this making much of an impact on anything other than the profile of those involved.

This ad makes sense to sober people. Tell a drunk guy he’s a dickhead and see what happens.

Kyle exhorting people to not be a dickhead sounds like turf protection!
The point is that Kyle’s target demographic is the dickhead community. This advert is aimed at all of Kyle’s “people”. (ie the dickheads amongst us). And it just might work. Especially if they feel intimidated by John Ibrahim’s presence. By the way don’t feel that that you have to male to be a dickhead. Long live the Kings of Bogan – villa.
Well Thank goodness to both John Ibrahim and Kyle! There is absolutely no point in creating this kind of advert or video unless it makes an impact and using 2 people so very much in the lime light where this sort of behaviour is rampant, was an excellent decision. Im certain that “Don’t be a dickhead” will make an impact in this demographic but it should be inclusive and other versions should be made to fit into some of the other demographics as well.
