Lee Stephens quits Aegis for digital agency

Aegis boss Lee Stephens is stepping down ahead of the company’s planned merger with the Mitchell Communication Group and will instead take a stake in a digital agency.

Stephens told Mumbrella that he would be on a non compete until February after which he would join the Sydney and Melbourne based agency, which he described as “a good little group”.

Stephens’ last day at Aegis – parent company of media agencies Carat and Vizeum – will be November 5.

Aegis is currently in the processing of buying Mitchells, with the plan for founder Harold Mitchell to be executive chairman of the new business.
