Long-awaited Offspring return up on season five debut, giving Ten another win
The much-anticipated return of Offspring on Channel Ten last night saw 959,000 viewers tune in, up marginally on season five’s debut two years ago.
Offspring, which aired at 8:30pm, was the second most-watched show across all the demographics, second only to Ten stablemate Masterchef in the 7:30pm slot, which won the night again with 1.197m viewers, as Heston Blumenthal continues to prove a drawcard.
The strength of the two shows as the most watched non-news programs of the night lifted Ten to a second nightly win, with an audience share of 19.1%, ahead of Nine’s 17.3% and Seven’s 16.6%.
