Mad Max production arranges two-year lease of Broken Hill Film Studio

Broken Hill City Council and Kennedy Miller Mitchell have finalised the lease arrangements for the two-year tenancy of the Broken Hill Film Studio.

“Council and Kennedy Miller Mitchell have consistently worked together to make the film studio a reality and reach this historic agreement and Council is very pleased to confirm the studio now has its first long-term tenant,” said Broken Hill Mayor Wincen Cuy.

“It is envisaged that once fully developed, the combined film studio and precinct will generate over 10 years an estimated $167m in indirect benefits to Broken Hill with an average of 161 fulltime time equivalent jobs per annum,” he added.

The studio will host production of Mad Max: Fury Road. The lease includes an extension clause for further tenancy, if required by the production company.
