MAFS’ first dinner party helps it to a new high with 1.178m metro viewers tuning in
The first dinner party for Married at First Sight’s seventh season has given the show its highest ratings for 2020. 1.178m metro viewers tuned in for the drama-filled TV event, pushing it to the top of the ratings ladder for the night and easily handing Nine a win in the 7:30pm timeslot.
Nationally 1.593 viewers tuned in and the show topped all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s. MAFS premiered for 2020 earlier this month, drawing in 1.154m metro viewers – its biggest ever launch.

The drama-filled dinner parties are proving a ratings success for Married at First Sight
The ABC took the second spot in the 7:30pm timeslot. Current affairs program 7.30 drew a metro audience of 590,000, while Hard Quiz at 8pm brought in 597,000 – a jump from last week’s 2020 premiere of 550,000. Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell delivered 570,000 metro viewers. Nationally, 851,000 watched 7.30, 855,000 Hard Quiz and 806,000 Mad As Hell.
On Ten, Australian Survivor: All Stars brought in 572,000 metro viewers and 729,000 nationally. Seven’s My Kitchen Rules delivered 422,000 metro and 662,000 national viewers, giving it fourth in the 7:30pm timeslot. Episode eight delivered 1.046m metro viewers in 2019, although it did air on a Sunday. The Wednesday night episode prior in 2019 delivered 816,000.
Nine’s Doctor Doctor gained slightly on its premiere, rising from 532,000 metro viewers to 559,000 on Wednesday night. Nationally 834,000 viewers watched the episode. Seven’s First Dates Australia brought in 373,000 metro viewers.
Nine again won the night overall on a 25.5% channel share and 31.8% network share. Seven sat behind on 17.5% and 25.5%, while Ten just beat the ABC, holding 11.6% and 18.4%. ABC secured 11.4% and 15.6%, and SBS 5.0% and 8.6%. 10 Bold was the most-watched multi-channel with 4.5%.
