Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD audience drop costs Seven the night
Channel Seven lost over 400,000 viewers from Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD last night as ratings dropped to 887,000 viewers in its second outing, preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam show.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD had averaged more than 1.3m in its first outing last week, topping the ratings for the night, but last night fell to sixth in all programs and second in people 25-54.
Meanwhile Gruen Planet had 884,000 on ABC1 at the same time, and Channel Nine launched new US drama Hostages – starring Australian actress Toni Collette. Channel Nine scored 693,000 viewers for the pilot episode at 8.30pm and 649,000 for the next episode at 9.30pm.
Nine News and Seven News were the only two programs to reach over 1m viewers, with Nine just ahead of Seven at 1.106m while Seven News had 1.094m.
SHIELD. What a load of bollocks. I turned off last week’s “entry level” episodes. This series should have stayed in a comic book and not sullied Ironman’s waters.
Programs these days are so predictable same old same old. Hostages is if a new concept? Broken family sick wife young daughter grandpa for support. Husband with affair. Give me a break. Where are the original ideas?
Yeah gotta say Shield isn’t what i was hoping for, neither is Blacklist(better than Shield though). At least American Horror Story is back soon.
Agents of SHIELD is a fantastic and fun show and I am surprised by the drop but the show is definintely going to pick up more viewers, it’s too good not to!
