Masterchef wins on mediocre Monday

Ten’s Masterchef has had a strong start to the final week of the series with the show’s highest weekday rating to date.  

Monday’s episode of the cooking competition saw Masterchef score an audience of more than 2.1m, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.

The show – which was miles ahead of anythign else in the post 7pm schedule – single handedly dragged Ten to a win for the night where each network only had one hit.

Recruits, which follwed Masterchef on Ten, fell away to just under 1.4m, while after that the Melbourne Comedy Festival debate averaged less than a million.
