Matt Tilley departs Melbourne’s Nova 100
Nova 100’s morning presenter Matt Tilley has finished up at the station.
Tilley took on the 9am to 12pm slot earlier this year as part of a programming shake-up, but the station said it is now going in a different direction.
Tilley has worked across all the major commercial radio networks, including a long stint at Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) Fox FM where he fronted ‘The Matt and Jo Show’ with Jo Stanley and its various iterations from 1997 to 2013.
should have stayed at fox.
After nearly 20 years of talking lots but saying nothing I imagine a position in ScoMo’s cabinet might beckon,” said Tilley. [Edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy]
Peaked with pairing of jo Stanley been downhill since then.
Articles about radio broadcasters and comedians always feature this:
“Serious opening, followed by what someone thinks is a witty punch line”, said Announcer X.
Everytime. Without fail. Just because you’re a zany FM broadcaster or comedian, doesn’t mean you need to make every press release an attempt at stand-up.
People are switching stations during the day because of the music. Nova is repetitive top 30 hits. Great radio presenters but lift your music choice
Yessssss! I loved Chrissie and Jane Hall. As soon as Matt joined Jane we switched stations. He was misogynistic and crude and a waste of air time. We adore Chrissie, Sam & Browny but can’t turn Nova off quick enough when 9am rolls around. He is a mature aged man commentating and presenting like he had the mind of 13 year old boy. Any wonder Nova claims they are ‘going in a different direction’.
Now, if we could just get rid of Kate, Tim and Marty in the arvo, we might be able to stop moving the dial!
matt and troy are great together on the radio been years following each other
