M&C Saatchi Group to present the Australian Women’s Film Festival

M&C Saatchi Group is locked in to present the Australian Women’s Film Festival (AWFF) on September 17.
Now in its third year, the AWFF aims to support, encourage, and celebrate female storytellers by giving them a platform to showcase their talent.
Hosted by Australian presenter and media personality Lucia Hawley, the judging panel includes head of screen NSW Kyas Hepworth, director, writer and producer Leah Purcell, and actors Sophie Wilde and Bella Heathcote.
Wilde said: “AWFF is such an important initiative – it presents a valuable opportunity to champion women in all our glory and to tell our stories from our perspectives. I’m thrilled to be a part of a festival that celebrates that.”
On being a judge for the 2024 AWFF Awards, Heathcote added: “I’m excited to see this year’s entries and celebrate female-driven films!”
AWFF will also honour industry powerhouse Leah Purcell with the AWFF Trailblazer Award, and producer and disability advocate Tracey Corbin-Matchett will be bestowed with the AWFF Groundbreaker Award.
The winner of the Best Film will receive a $10,000 equipment rental package from VA Hire, a $10,000 rental package from Disney Lighting, and a $5,000 post-production package from Spectrum Films.
Additional awards will be given for Best Drama, Documentary, Comedy, and Animation.
Event Cinemas, Disney Studios Australia, and Amazon Web Services are also supporting the event.
