Mediacom promotions sees Jenner become chairman and Pejic CEO
Media agency Mediacom has announced new titles for several of its senior staff.
The appointments will fuel rumours that boss Toby Jenner is preparing to take on a regional leadership role.
- Toby Jenner is promoted from CEO to Executive Chairman.
- Mark Pejic is promoted from COO to CEO.
- James Ledger is promoted from Joint Head of Client Communications Planning, Sydney to Chief Client Communications Planning Officer, MediaCom Australia.
- Paul Brooks is promoted from Head of Implementational Planning and Investment (IP+I) to Chief Investment Officer MediaCom Australia.
- Gemma Newland is promoted from Head of MBA to Executive Creative Director, MediaCom Australia / MediaCom Beyond Advertising.
- Nick Keenan is promoted from Head of Non Broadcast Implementational Planning and Investment (IP+I) to Head of IP+I, Melbourne.
- Naomi Johnston is promoted from Group Director, Client Communications Planning Melbourne to Head of Client Communications Planning, Melbourne.
- Anny Havercroft is promoted from Group Director Innovation and Technology to Head of MediaCom Beyond Advertising, Melbourne.
According to the agency, billings increased by 18 during 2011, including winning Westpac.
Jenner said in a statement: “Whilst it’s been an incredible team effort across the last two years it’s great to be able to publically recognise some of those individuals who’ve been instrumental in our recent success. To further energise our business through internal promotions alone is all testament to the strength in depth we have at MediaCom and the individual development programmes we have in place.”
The announcement came hours after Andrew Livingston quit the agency to become CEO of Initiative. It means that the bosses of both Mediabrands’ agencies are now ex Mediacom staff. Mat Baxter is CEO of UM. Initiative claims that Livingston had been named as MD designate of Mediacom Sydney, although this is denied by Jenner.
In the statement Jenner said: “We also wish Andrew (currently Joint Head Client Communications Planning) well in his new role at Initiative.”
Pejic said: “I’m delighted that our partnership has proved so successful and look forward to building on it moving forwards. It feels like we’re only just getting started.”
Such a serious couple of guys. They must mean business.
“reguional readership role”???
Whats Toby going to be reading in Singapore??
“reguional readership role” – Freudian slip??
Yikes. Probably…
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Well done toute le monde. Mark, you have big collars to fill.
Who is their PR advisor? Those poses look a little Hawaii 5-0 for my liking. Chill out guys – it’s only media, it’s not as if you have a long future ahead of you. Enjoy each other.
I wonder how many execs and assistants have been promoted as a result of said new business wins? Typical Mediacom. Ignoring those in the sweatshop doing the actual work.
It is common knowledge within group m that Jenner is becoming MediaCom APAC CEO. Why all the rubbish? Just tell the truth!
lots of “C’s” at medicom !!
No wonder so many people laugh at our industry. How on earth can one little company have so many Chief Officers? It so looks like kids pretending to be adults.
Each year mediacon change their senior staff’s job titles. Seriously, who are they trying to kid!
Going to miss seeing Keenan’s head on media week. Sydney will be a lot quieter without him here.
what exactly does an executive chairman do? doesnt have to win or service clients, doesnt have to deal with staff issues, doesnt even have to market the company. just sit around without any staff, pontificate about organisational capabilities or some bs like that, and get paid a fortune.. wish i had a job like that
Congratulations Mark, Naomi, Anny and Gemma. You all thouroughly deserve it.
