MediaCom and UM face off in $40m William Hill media pitch
Media agencies MediaCom and UM have today been pitching to bookmaker William Hill in a face off for the lucrative media account.
In the wake of last month’s purchase of online betting agency Tom Waterhouse the UK company is consolidating its media buying across its Sportingbet, Centrebet and now Tom Waterhouse brands.
UM is the incumbent on the Sportingbet and Centrebet accounts, thought to be worth between $10-20m, having picked up the accounts from Slingshot last year. While MediaCom has held the $20m Tom Waterhouse since the website’s launch its media spend has been decreasing in recent times, particularly in the wake of controversy over the integration of betting with sports broadcasting.
William Hill is also reportedly looking to consolidate some of its brands.
i think you will find it is Sportingbet not Sportsbet
