Mel Greig to give talk to UK radio conference about learnings from royal prank call
Royal hoax call DJ Mel Greig is set to speak at the UK radio industry’s biggest conference about the lessons she has learned from the royal prank call and the sunsequent death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha next week.
Greig travelled to the UK last month for the much-delayed inquest into the death of Saldanha, who took her own life after transferring the prank call where Greig and co-host Michael Christian pretended to be the Queen and Prince Charles, to the ward where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated whilst pregnant with Prince George.
At the inquest the former Today Network DJ urged broadcaster to amend their policies and procedures to prevent a similar outcome in the future, although the coroner stopped short of blaming Southern Cross Austereo or the hospital for the death.
Greig is set to be interviewed by broadcaster Daisy McAndrew about on air pranks, and what she has learned from the incident on October 14 at the radio Academy Conference in Salford.
I really feel for Mel Greig.
I hope one day Mel can be known as more than the Royal hoax DJ.
…about “learnings” from royal prank call?
“learnings” ???????
Have you ever heard of “lessons”?
That’s the word you’re looking for.
Learnings is an embarrassing utterance often heard from dumbos in the marketing industry who seek to prove their ignorance to the world.
Learnings is not a word. Unless you didn’t attend any lessons in school.
