Melbourne radio ratings: Audience missing Hamish & Andy

Melbourne’s radio listeners appear to be missing a daily dose of Hamish & Andy with drivetime share for Austereo’s Fox FM dropping from 20.5% to 15.1% in today’s Nielsen radio ratings, the first for 2011.

But no other commercial station was a major beneficiary, with the ABC’s Triple J upping its drivetime share from 5.5% to 9%.

Nova’s new drivetime lineup of Fitzy & Wippa took the station’s Melbourne drivetime share up from 7% to 8%.

Austereo CEO Guy Dobson told Mumbrella that “normalised” across the national audience, he was delighted that the end of Hamish & Andy’s daily show had not had a bigger impact, with it only being felt in Melbourne.

Fox FM remained Melbourne’s biggest FM station with share standing still at 12.4%.

New talk station MTR 1377 finally showed some signs of life – with share rising from 1.4% to 2.1%.

DMG’s Classic Rock was up from 2.6% to 3% in Melbourne.
