Melbourne radio ratings: Fox FM overtakes 3AW in Drive slot
Melbourne’s Fox FM has overtaken 3AW’s Tom Elliott in the critical Drive slot, with 12.3% share in GfK survey five. Hosts Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, and David Hughes and Kate Langbroek (on air from Italy but replaced by 2Day FM’s Ed Kavalee in recent weeks) enjoyed a 1.3 percentage point jump, pushing Fox above AM’s strong-performing 3AW in the slot.
3AW dropped 0.6 percentage points to finish with 11.4% share in drivetime. Survey five ran from 6 May to 29 June, and 14 July to 17 August.
Another disastrous ratings for Macquarie sports- how long before this format is axed?
Macquarie radio must realise that Macquarie Sports Radio is now a dud. Melbourne now has 4 sports radio stations on the am band 1377 which is the same as SEN 1116. 1278 and then we have RSN 927. and no music station on the am band. Why not try a beautiful music format on 1278 as it will sound just as good in Digital.
Or another idea, I would like to see the entire am band scrapt and move to the FM band.
Surely the decision that Croc Media made to move on some stalwarts from SEN1116 was the absolute correct decision. The ratings prove that Macquarie Sports has about 1278 listeners
SEN.
Sports Entertainment Network supposedly.
Too AFL centric nowadays for my liking.
It’s mix of information across the sporting landscape has long gone
