Melbourne radio ratings: Hit101.9 FoxFM manages to hold onto overall ratings crown
Southern Cross Austereo’s Triple M has kicked off the year with its Hot Breakfast team of Eddie McGuire, Luke Darcy and Mick Molloy retaining the FM breakfast crown while FoxFM, which rebranded as hit101.9 FoxFM in January, managed to hold onto its lead position in the Monday to Sunday figures, just ahead of Triple M.
Hit101.9 FoxFM, which ended last year on top and which is also owned by Southern Cross Austereo, saw its audience share drop by 0.9 points to sit on a share of 7.6, just ahead of rival Triple M which boosted its share by 0.8 points to a share of 7.4. Nova claimed third place despite its audience declining by 0.5 share points to a share of 7.3.
In breakfast, Triple M’s Hot Breakfast boosted its audience by 1.5 share points to a share of 9.3, well ahead of Hit101.9 Fox FM’s breakfast duo of Fifi and Dave who saw their audience slip by 0.4 share points to grab a share of 6.8.
I bet Fox are going to fight their rebranding to Hit. Looks like their listeners are already starting to leave in anticipation of the change
Should be interesting times in their boardrooms from here on
