Merrick Watts: We won’t turn our colleagues into casualties
Triple M’s new drivetime presenter Merrick Watts has promised that his show will not cause trouble for behind the scenes staff.
The comments came in an interview to promote next week’s launch of Merrick and the Highway Patrol on Triple M. Also on the team is Rachel Corbett and Julian Schiller.
In the interview with Mumbrella journalist Colin Delaney, Watts said: “I want the show to be a great show. Not to be the most famous show, not to be concerned or obsessed with ratings but to be a show that just wants to create great comedy.

I really hope Merrick does well. He’s a talented, down to earth and a good bloke. I am neither a mate or radio station flunky..
Good luck guys.
Go Merrick….I’ll be listening to you! Have missed you clever (and silly) humour 🙂
Merrick’s a dead-average full-forward though. Mind you, he’s the only full forward I’ve seen who has marked in the goal-square, started his walk back towards the 50m line, and then decided to kick the ball back over his head and dobbed it! Yeah … funny bloke.
I was so so so excited to see Merrick back and I think it’s a great match : Triple M & Merrick – (edited by Mumbrella).
Forget Merrick, who is the bearded dreamboat? Spunk alert!
…waiting for Sandilands to call Merrick a fat slut.
…am wondering if these Sandilands references are seeking very cross promo?
why is merrick so tense when not speaking. watching this with the sound off the guy can’t stop frowning, body language says a lot.
Photo wasn’t up when I first looked at this story or I missed it. I think you missed something too though Jimmy, the pic looks like a tip of the hat to Mad Max which for mine, hits its demo clean between the eyes.. “I am the rocker, I am the roller I am the I-a-fu5k1n -tolla” I wrote that purely for my own benefit it has no relevance really….
@Logic I think you’ll find that frowning is more a habit than anything. I reckon they all have good synergy. The time spent together before the show starts has been very beneficial.
