Mike E launches new podcast: Behind the Mic

Mike E launches new podcast Behind the Mic, opening with Amanda Keller and featuring Australia’s biggest audio stars.

Broadcaster and media educator Mike E (Mike Etheridge) is launching a new long form podcast, Behind the Mic with Mike E, offering rare, honest conversations with Australia’s most recognisable voices in audio and podcasting.

Launching Wednesday 18 February, the podcast opens with Amanda Keller, in a wide-ranging conversation that goes beyond promotion to explore the realities of longevity, pressure and reinvention in audio.

Behind the Mic strips away the usual promo gloss to focus on the person behind the microphone. The pivots, pressure, ego, burnout and ambition that come with a life in audio, and what it truly takes to build and sustain an audience today. This is not an industry podcast. It’s for listeners who hear these voices every day and want to know who they really are.

Mike E says he is in a unique position to bring these honest chats “This podcast marks a new chapter for me. Because I’m no longer in the daily churn of a flagship content role, I can sit down with these voices and talk candidly about what’s really going on in their role and lives, the pressure, the doubt and the decisions that don’t usually make it to air.”

Mike E brings more than 20 years’ experience in Australian radio, most recently co-hosting Mike E & Emma across Edge 96.1, 2Day FM, LiSTNR and the Hit Network. He currently hosts programs nationally across the Hit Network and works as a media and presentation educator.
