MIQ has parted ways with Asia Pacific CEO Jason Scott, with local leadership now under Australia and New Zealand managing director Fiona Roberts.
Scott first joined the advertising technology firm in October 2019 as CEO for ANZ, and was promoted to lead its APAC operations nearly three years later.
In a statement to Mumbrella, an MIQ spokesperson wished Scott well for the future, adding: “We routinely assess our business operations in each of our individual markets around the world. Our intention, as always, is to ensure that our product is resonating with our clients and our business is growing in line with our ambitions.
“In this case, we decided to make a change. We remain committed to the region as part of our global expansion strategy and will continue to invest broadly to grow our business there.”
Scott was contacted by Mumbrella for comment.
Prior to joining MIQ, Scott was the CEO of Allure Media, the Australian publisher of Gizmodo, Kotaku and Popsugar, leaving the business when it was integrated into the Pedestrian Group following Nine Entertainment’s merger with Fairfax Media.
Before that, he spent four years at Microsoft, working in the United States and later Singapore, and prior to that, led sales at ninemsn for five years.
Meanwhile, MIQ ANZ’s de facto leader, Roberts, has been with the company since 2018, rising through the ranks from sales director to commercial director before becoming MD in 2022.

According to MIQ’s website, the APAC region comprises seven offices in total: four in Australia — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth — two in China, and one in Singapore.
In addition, it has operations in New Zealand and Japan, MIQ’s spokesperson said, noting that each market will now be managed individually by its local leadership.
