Mumbrella360: Is it time to reconsider The Daily Mail?
Sean Walsh believes The Daily Mail is the voice for the American people. He makes some compelling points.
Sean Walsh believes The Daily Mail is the voice for the American people.
He’s a little biased, being the one tasked with driving the British publication’s rise in the US, but he made a slew of compelling points this morning, during his Mumbrella360 session.
I was in this session and he seems like a really smart bloke who the Daily Mail is lucky to have. I also enjoyed the addition of Meghan McCain to the discussion, most speakers are so into themselves, they’d never share the stage.
It was refreshing to see how he talked up his colleagues while also demystifying the Mail and undoing some of the perceptions around it.
Regardless of what people think of the Mail, I really enjoy reading it. Walsh seems like he really positioned them for success in the United States and Australia.
No thanks
‘Is it time to give coal another chance? This fossil fuel company thinks so!’
‘Have cigarette companies been given a bad rap? This man paid by big tobacco makes some compelling points’
‘Is social media actually good for society? Mark Zuckerberg says ‘YES”
‘Should gambling companies advertise MORE? Employee believes they should’
Absolutely not.
Oh wow hahaha well I’m sure this is his truth, may not be THE truth though. “everything we do is underpinned by truth” yeah right. If I said it to them, it becomes the truth, doesn’t mean it is true – I could make up any old tripe and they’d publish it as truth just because i said it. Also ‘networks not responding’ might be because usually the Mail emails the network publicist about 30 seconds before they’re about to publish a story, gives you no time to respond, and simply adds in ‘we reached out to the network for comment’. By then its too late and pointless to respond because they’ve run their ‘truth’ story anyway.
Good story although surprising lack of comment of Australian version’s palpable and growing influence
“Walsh recalls being in the NBC offices and seeing their journalists on the Daily Mail site, using it as a source for their stories”
The next question is who has been in The Daily Mail offices and knows which news sites they’re using for a source?
