Mumbrellacast: ABC crisis, the Lisa Messenger battle, VMLY&R twists tongues and guest Michelle Rowland
On Monday the board of the ABC fired its managing director Michelle Guthrie. And by Thursday, chairman Justin Milne had walked the plank too. In this week’s Mumbrellacast, the team analyses the twists and turns and asks: where do we go from here?
There were big developments in adland this week too, with WPP consolidating two of its biggest brands – creative agency Y&R and digital agency VML, which will now become VMLY&R. Plus, we discuss Lisa Messenger’s announcement that print is not dead with the return of Collective Hub and talk to shadow communications minister Michelle Rowland.

as one of those former staff members, the hours I racked up in (completely unpaid and unappreciated) overtime shows that I worked fucking hard and her saying it wasn’t hard enough is actually insulting.
Bloody has to be, F.T.A TV is all but stuffed, Pay TV costs an arm and a leg, the power supply is like the TV and Media Companies own by China, or some overseas conglomerate, we haven’t got a government with any balls like America, maybe the strangest president, but who thought N&S Korea would be now talking we need someone in Australia to blow something maybe a trump—-et

OMG I read the article about Lisa Messenger starting up the print mag again but had not heard her until now. WTF?! She’s a ranting lunatic. Does she really think she’s the first business person to work hard?! It sounds like it. Get a grip Lisa, it’s a magazine!! yes Lisa business is tough and there are many thousands of people who work their butts off and give their all every day. It’s not just you. You run a nice magazine but that’s it. It’s not BHP for Christ sake. you seriously need a reality check.
