My Kitchen Rules gives Seven an easy ratings win on Thursday night

A strong audience for My Kitchen Rules along with the absence of Nine’s Married at First Sight gave Seven a strong overall audience share on Thursday night, according to OzTam’s overnight audience ratings.

The cookery show, which brought in 1.118m metro viewers, helped Seven to a 26.2% main channel share, compared to Nine’s 17.0%.

My Kitchen Rules also topped the key advertising demographics of 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54..

Ten was third for the night with a 14.5% main channel share, mainly thanks to Gogglebox’s 629,000 metro viewers, along with I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!’s 595,000.

Gogglebox was the second-most-watched show for demographics 18-49 and 25-54, achieving 292,000 and 329,000 metro viewers respectively.

Nine pipped Seven to the post in the nightly news battle, with 928,000 metro viewers as opposed to Seven’s 900,000.

ABC received a 8.8% piece of the main channel pie, while SBS managed 4.8%.

On the multichannel’s, Seven’s Winter Olympic coverage yet again dominated, scoring 218,000 metro viewers.
