Myer names former Simplot CMO Tara Lordsmith as group GM for marketing
Former Simplot chief marketer Tara Lordsmith has been named as group general marketing manager for Myer.
She will join in mid January and spearhead the development of the department store’s new brand positioning and head up advertising, media buying, brand management, visual merchandise, digital, events and PR.
The responsibilities were previously overseen by chief merchandise and marketing officer Daniel Bracken.
Bracken said Lordsmith’s strong marketing background and her “considerable brand strategy and consumer insights experience will add significant strength to our Marketing team”.
Why is Tara sitting in a pool in that picture?!
@Josh ’cause she is jumping in the deep end.
Her personal consultancy site doesn’t have any analytics or trackers.
Which suggests she’s out of her depth with respect to digital marketing.
Might sound harsh, but if you start a consultancy, one of the first things you’d do is set up a site. Then set up analytics to see if someone has visited your site – which clients and from where. Validated learning. Analysis.
And the future of Myer is digital?
