Needle secures US and Japan release

The Perth-shot horror thriller Needle has secured release in the US  and Japan.

Grindstone Entertainment acquired all North American rights and will release it through Lionsgate Home Entertainment; in Japan, the distribution rights went to Shochiku.The deal was negotiated by Lightning Entertainment’s Richard Guardian, and Filmscope Entertainment’s  – and the film’s director – John V Soto.

Needle has been sold to Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, South Africa, Middle-East, India, Korea, Turkey, Indonesia. According to Soto, a deal is close to being finalised for Australia and New Zealand.

The film is a supernatural murder mystery about a killer who uses an 18th century machine with supernatural powers to terrorize students at a local college.
