News Corp apologises to Karl Stefanovic as part of defamation settlement

News Corp has issued an apology to Nine’s Karl Stefanovic over “incorrect” claims about his career.

Stefanovic – who has recently been re-installed at the helm of the Today show – had started defamation proceedings against News Corp’s Nationwide News – over suggestions he took a $1m paycut to return to his prominent position.

Stefanovic will be back on screens on 6 January, 2020

In today’s issue of The Sunday Telegraph, the publisher apologised for its November articles, and accepted “that this figure is incorrect”.
