News Corp appoints executive editor Sundays to oversee specialist sections

News Corp has promoted Sunday Herald Sun editor Jill Baker to the new role of executive editor Sundays which will see Baker manage the Sunday major metro titles’ specialist sections and investigative journalism.

Geelong Advertiser editor Nick Papps takes on the role made vacant by Baker, stepping into helm the Sunday Herald Sun while Herald Sun news editor Liam Houlihan has been promoted to editor of the Geelong Advertiser.

News Corp Australia chief executive Peter Tonagh said in a statement: “Thanks to our outstanding journalists at the Herald and Weekly Times, Leader Newspapers and the Geelong Advertiser, News Corp Australia enjoys a strong leadership position in Victoria with a monthly audience of 3.7 million, which is 82 per cent of the state’s population.
