News Corp yet to discuss climate change attack amid Murdoch boardroom rift
Inflammatory criticism by James Murdoch over News Corp’s position on climate change and the Australian bushfires has yet to be discussed by the board, according to reports, as debate continues to rage over the media firm’s handling of the crisis.
Rupert Murdoch’s youngest son, who sits on the News Corp board, and wife Kathryn yesterday took the highly unusual step of publicly attacking the publisher’s coverage of the issue.

James Murdoch has taken the unusual step of attacking his father’s media empire
“News Corp doesn’t deny climate change.” It does deny human caused climate change, in just about every edition of the Australian or The Telegraph— because that would threaten Murdochs mates in the coal industry.
Great work by James, although NewsCorp in general is still a (right wing) plague upon all Australians.
The lack of response from its staff is a clear indicator of their own shame and considering the misplaced guff they have in themselves, hopefully this is a timely reminder of their place in 2020.
The steady flow of reporters out the door at The Australian over recent years has been characterised by one common feature. They all were fed up. Some of the more longstanding staff who left have gone public with their critique of the bent news values and puerile agenda-pushing.
Now we have a Murdoch on the record.
It is official: News Corp’s influence is most certainly an illness in our society.
Whatever the motivation for James Murdoch’s statement — caring for the common good simply isn’t in the family DNA — it is worth noting that expressions of concern about climate change in the media are kind of a nothing burger at this point. Cathartic maybe, but not the real story.
Revealing the true horror of the situation is a much trickier prospect because the public really doesn’t want to know .. and frankly, wouldn’t be able to handle the information of they did know.
That’s the bigger challenge facing the media.
Because the climate change reached the stage of “hmm … actually its probably better NOT to tell them of the planet-killing asteroid that’s gonna hit next week” a long time ago …

Real life Succession…
I suppose there is no chance they could report the news and not be considered “left or right”? After all, no other outlet can help themselves either. When you take into account the left leaners like GetUp, the Guardian, CBS, ABC, The Project, Insiders, Q&A and some parts now of the Nine Network, conservatives are just about out of air time. Once conservatives have no voice then the climate change debate can go up another notch. I just want some milk, without comment or bias.
Great clip and interesting point.
Are the current crop of right-wing world leaders totally incompetent or aware of information that has us facing calamity regardless of what action we take. It would help explain:
– Trump trying to buy Greenland (for his family and close friends/donors), when the s**t hits the fan
– Scotty from Marketing constantly praying, because he knows we’re f**ked.
As gate keepers to our clients plans, I believe we should be activity discouraging client so utilise news publications until they stop spreading lies and misinformation regarding the bushfires.
Its disgraceful, immoral and helps to completely hinder any meaningful action on climate change.
Shame on them, they are a disgrace.
Climate change in the UK is a bi-partisan effort.
Boris Johnson recently initiated and signed off on an emission reductions policy.
God-Boy Morrison should take note.
Do conservatives even have a place in 2020?
Should we not rejoice their slow phase out of society in general?
Its a good time to be a Nine rep in print 😉
What if the news doesn’t suit Conservative ideology? Perhaps your ideology is the problem and not the news.
Values are not conswrved, convervatives has lost its meaning. Propping up big business is not “conservative”.
