Yahoo7 returns to Nielsen top 10 online news sites at expense of Herald Sun
Yahoo7 has jumped back into the top 10 news sites to claim 6th position, after being bumped out of the top 10 Nielsen online news rankings by MSN News in December.
Yahoo7 news websites posted a unique audience of 2.081m for January, up 51% on its December unique audience of 1.376m.
MSN News retained its 10th position, with its unique audience up 13.% on December. The site’s audience grew from 1.410m to 1.596m.
Yahoo7’s return to the top 10 saw News Corp’s Herald Sun fall out of the top 10. The site posted a unique audience for January of 1.546m, up 3% on its December unique audience of 1.501m.

Y7’s increase is entirely due to Aus Open tennis coverage (and access with 7 partnership). They will drop out of the top 10 again next month.
