Nine claims Thursday in tight race, MasterChef tops entertainment programming

A quiet Thursday night was claimed by the Nine Network, taking a 27.3% network share to just barely pip Seven with a 27.2% share.

The night was dominated by news programming, with the top-rating non-news offering coming in the form of MasterChef Australia on Ten. Its 557,000 metro viewers continued a trend among multiple tentpole programs across the networks that are yet to scale the heights of 2020 ratings performance.

Thursday night saw MasterChef contestants compete in a chilli challenge, using some of the hottest chillies in the world as the judges struggled through the heat.
