Nine to broadcast Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless
Nine has obtained the rights to American soap operas Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless, which will be broadcast on multi-channel 9Gem and available on broadcast video-on-demand (BVOD) platform 9Now.
Neither program has been broadcast on free-to-air TV in six years. Both Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless will return on Monday 9 September.
Days of our Lives is returning to free-to-air
Prior to the launch, 9Gem will be broadcasting five episodes for each program, catching viewers up on all of the necessary drama ahead of the new episodes. The catch-up episodes will begin airing on Monday the 2 September, and were available on 9Now from 31 August.
Thats all great bringing back icons of channel 9 which should have never been cancelled in the first place……but if they are gonna be months behind in broadcast here in Australia then there is no use….as many of us have foxtel where they are in line pretty much with US and other websites where streaming is inline with the US also.
If channel 9 wishes for their old viewers to return, they need to catch up all episodes since 2013. This latest catch up has too many
gaps. I began watching in 1974 when we moved to Canberra until Days of Our Lives was cancelled by 9. You owe us the missing episodes.

I am delighted to see that Days of our lives will be returning to our screens. I just finished, watching the 5 catch up episodes. Looks like I am hooked once again. Thankyou…

Us real fans want to see all episodes not jump 5 years ahead of where we were
Thanks Ch 9 but I’ll be sticking with foxtel….at least they show every episode as soon as its expressed to us…if is wasnt for 9 taking it off for the cricket or any other programme that came up Days wouldnt have ended up 6 years behind to start with….they’ll do the same thing again….even get to watch it on Xmas day on foxtel.
Great to see these shows back on. Ive been watching for over 35 years. I agree with the other comments. There is no point bringing the shows back on TV when we are upto date we with the US episodes.

I had to go and fork out extra money th have foxtell Installed when channel 9 cancelled the show would be so happy if it came back on 9 but like the other comments give us a catch up

I want to watch the Australian catch up special episodes but they seem to have expired already? Anyone know where I can find them?
I have been watching the latest episodes on Foxtel. For all the loyal fans out there, we don’t want to rewatch episodes from 3 months ago. The only way we will be watching is if it is in line with the U.S. But somehow I feel that CBS will not be allowing that as their is a fee involved to stream online.
