Nine wins the night while Rove’s return lifts The Project on Ten

Monday night saw Nine comprehensively beat its rival Seven on the back of a strong performance by The Block which topped the night with a metropolitan audience of 1.28m according to the OzTam Overnight figures.

Meanwhile the third episode of The Amazing Race Australia vs New Zealand delivered just 616,000 viewers in the 8.40pm slot despite a strong lead in from the X Factor which had 1.078m viewers, down on its first elimination last week which got 1.107m for its live results show.

Rove McManus’ return to The Project on Ten saw it become the highest rating show of the evening for the network with the 7pm slot drawing 730,000 viewers, and 528,000 tuning in from 6.30pm, up on last week’s result. David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities at 7.30pm drew 475,000.
