Nine wins the night as The Block: Fans vs Faves wins biggest audience so far this year
Nine’s fourth outing of The Block: Fans versus Faves won its highest audience of the week last night, as the reality home renovation show averaged 1.22m metro viewers according to OzTam.
Meanwhile Seven’s lineup of Home and Away and Coastwatch fell second in the 7.30pm timeslot as Home and Away averaged 998,000 metro viewers from 7pm until 8pm, and Coastwatch had 801,000.
The Block was the most popular show in Nine’s target demographic of people 25-54 as well as winning the most viewers for any program last night. And it helped Nine win the largest share
of the audience – 21.8 per cent – as Seven had 20.9 per cent and Ten was fourth for the night with just over 10 per cent.Ten’s Jamie Oliver cooking show save with Jamie was fourth in the 7.30pm timeslot with 345,000 as ABC1’s 7.30 and repeat of QI, and had 403,000 viewers for the AACTAs. Ten sponsored the the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Awards, shown from 8.30pm to 10pm and its series Masterchef: The Professionals won best reality TV series.
Seven and Nine had stronger audiences for their US dramas and Nine’s Person of Interest proved the most popular in the timeslot with 662,000, as Seven’s Bones had 592,000.
