Nine’s Australian Open coverage hits a high thanks to Nick Kyrgios

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios has proven a winner for Nine with his match against Gillies Simon, which aired from 7pm on Thursday night, delivering 864,000 metro viewers and 1.175m national viewers.

The game which followed it, between Rafael Nadal and Federico Delbonis, brought in 503,000 metro and 656 national viewers when it aired from 10pm to 11.30.

Kyrgios managed a win against Simon and a win for Nine
