Nine’s Married at First Sight holds strong as Game of Thrones beats NRL

The second outing of Nine’s controversial reality program Married at First Sight managed to hold its own last night pulling in an audience of 1.103m, only slightly down on last week’s 1.134m.

Airing in the 8.45pm timeslot, the show was the second most-watched show of the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49, 25-54), while Ten’s cooking show MasterChef was the most-watched.

Married at First Sight, along with the success of Nine News which pulled in 1.246m at 6pm and 1.140m at 6.30pm, handed Nine a winning audience share of 21.6 per cent, as Seven lagged behind with a share of 17.4 per cent. Ten managed third place with a share of 15.6 per cent as the ABC settled for a share of 14.2 per cent.
