Nine’s Married at First Sight UK only pulls in 569,000 on debut as The Block wins night
The debut of Married at First Sight UK on Nine at 8.45pm last night has proven less popular than its Australian iteration which aired earlier this year, with the show only pulling in 569,000 metro viewers.
The debut of the Australian version of the show in May this year was watched by 1.134m.
It was out-rated by Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? which was watched by 575,000 from 8.30pm while both shows beat Seven’s showing of a repeat of The Big Bang Theory at 9pm which was watched by 560,000. In September Seven announced it had poached the first seven series of the US sitcom while Nine retained the rights to any new episodes.
Seven’s chief programmer Angus Ross told Mumbrella: “The Big Bang Theory provides demographic certainty for Seven. It will ensure we have Australia’s biggest digital channels and will give 7Mate unprecedented demographic dominance.”
Goes to show how weak UK telly performs in Aus

Hi Georgia,
You’re right, we had it the wrong way round. Changed now.
Cheers,

Yeah, I would have taken a peak if the married show was Australians, but not foreigners.
