Nine’s national news director steps down: ‘I know in my heart that this is the right time’
Nine’s director of news and current affairs Darren Wick has announced he will leave the network he has worked at for 29 years, but has stopped short of calling it a retirement, saying “I don’t know how to sit idle”.
Wicks spent his last 13 years at Nine in the role of national news director, before which he worked as executive producer of Today and A Current Affair, among other roles in a 29-year stint with the network.
