Nine’s Olympics to air in HD
The London Olympics will be available to free to air viewers in HD, Nine has revealed.
The announcement came as part of Nine’s launch event for its first coverage of the Games since winning the rights from Seven. The Olympics begin in late July and run into August.
In common with rivals Seven and Ten, Nine’s main channel is in standard definition only. But for the duration of the games, it will be simulcasting with Gem which is in high definition.
Meanwhile, partly because of the time difference with the UK, Nine’s Olympics will be on virtually around the clock.
I don’t know if HD is worth it.
I watched a HD version of a non HD channel on pay-tv whilst in the USA recently and couldn’t tell the difference flicking bak and forth between the 2
I wonder what the boss of Foxtel thinks about this?
@James- Either it wasn’t HD (the source or the channel) or you need an eye check up!
