Nissan to enter V8 Supercar Championships
Nissan is to enter the the V8 Supercar championship from 2013, to be the third car in competition, against Ford and Holden.
The announcement:
NISSAN ENTERS THE V8 SUPERCAR CHAMPIONSHIP FROM 2013
– First new manufacturer to join the Championship under the Car of the Future program
Shift the way you move… race a Mirca
This begs the question, will the cars actually be Nissans, in any way except for the badge on the grille & boot? The COFT plan to reduce costs was all about using shared components (engines, chassis, suspension, gearboxes, diffs etc) – even the current cars while LOOKING like their production counterparts, have different dimensions, different panels & the Holdens use a Ford diff . . .
We move another step closer to Redneck Racing – NASCAR style silhouette cars.
Way t’go ya’ good ole’ boys
