No Lisa, the man who accused the royal family of murdering Princess Di wasn’t at the service
While a Seven journo may have confused archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams with Mr Bean star Rowan Atkinson, Nine’s commentary team went one further during the Royal Wedding arrivals commentary.
As the King of Tonga arrived, host Lisa Wilkinson initially identified him as Dodi Fayed. Which would have been something of a surprise, as he died in 1997 in the crash that also killed Princess Diana.
As a second attempt, they concluded that the swarthy foreigner must be Mohamed Fayed, who later accused the Royal Family of murdering Dodi and Di. It wasn’t.
Seven took a slightly different tack.
The Queen will be heaving a sigh of relief that she allowed these guys to commentate on the wedding rather than The Chaser….
couldnt have happened to a more researched and informed channel.
apparently that bloke from The Fly is dead too
And these people are reading the news…worrying
But you got to admit he is a dead ringer for Mo
Utterly racist against Tonga
Tonga is the world’s newest and proudest democracy! Shame Lisa missed the news. If you are reading this Lisa, perhaps you visit Tonga. Youd be just in time for whale season. While watching the live broadcast I couldn’t stop laughing at the embarssing commentary, particularly at that same scene when the King of Tonga arrived. Admittedly, I didn’t know who the gentleman was, either, but heartily chuckled at the woeful comments that included Dodi being “the dead one”. Really bad job, Nine!
What complete idiots. I would never have believed the Channel Nine team could be that bad – and I didn’t give them much credit for brains to start with! What utter fools…
