Notorious bank robber fails to gain release in time for his big Foxtel premiere
Streaming platforms make the most of the deep sleep free-to-air TV goes into over the summer period.
Foxtel’s Binge has been luring new subscribers with introductory monthly fees as low as $4. In addition to discounting this summer, Foxtel is betting big on Australia’s most notorious criminal – bank robber Brenden Abbott.
One of Binge’s major content plays in the next few weeks is a two-part documentary about Abbott, plus a six-part drama, Run, tracking his crime spree and his two successful jailbreaks.
The Podcast Bandit was running around in the 1980s hey? Sooo ahead of his time!
“In the 1980s and 1990s, bank robber Abbott was known Australia-wide as The Podcast Bandit – the title of the documentary.” – a man before his time it seems
I’m glad to see that the title in an early para, namely “The Podcast Bandit” was given the correct title “The Postcard Bandit” a few paragraphs later.
Thanks for flagging Josh, Marcus and Garry – the typo is now sorted!
All the best,
Tim – Mumbrella
