NRL outrates AFL but Seven still beats Nine on Friday night

Better Homes and Gardens and a strong finish for gameshow The Chase helped Channel Seven to a win on Friday night, despite Nine’s NRL offering outrating the AFL on its primary channel, according to OzTam overnight metro ratings.

Nine’s screening of the match between the Panthers and Rabbitohs managed 422,000 viewers in Sydney and Brisbane, while the AFL match up between Eddie McGuire’s Collingwood and the Dockers could only muster 362,000 in response.
