Numbers drop to 1.768m for INXS, as Ten’s dancing continues to struggle
Seven lost viewers for the second part of its telemovie INXS: Never Tear Us Apart as the audience dropped from just under 2m for the first half to 1.768m after My Kitchen Rules won the biggest audience of the night with 1.863m, while Ten’s So You Think You Can Dance again struggled to get up against its established rivals.
Seven’s Sunday Night interview with Rachel Louise, the loyal girlfriend of convicted killer Simon Gittany, was third for the night with 1.684m metro viewers, OzTam’s preliminary overnight metro ratings show, helping the network win a 35.9 per cent audience share.
Torah Bright’s early exit from the Women’s Snowboard Cross at the Winter Olympics in Sochi averaged 825,000 for Channel Ten across four capital cities. The event was simulcast on digital channel One, which was also the only place viewers in Perth could watch it live, with Ten claiming a combined audience of 908,000 for the event.
However, the third outing of So You Think You Can Dance dropped to 313,000 viewers for Ten at 6.30pm, up against My Kitchen Rules and The Block.
My Kitchen Rules is the worst show on television.
And I am completely addicted to it.
It was such a shame that the INXS telemovie just skimmed across the top of characters and stories, making it incredibly difficult to “connect” with any of them. The one-dimensional, almost child-like portrayals of the different band members was an opportunity lost. Whilst the seemingly random introduction of the likes of Helena Christenson, Bono, Kylie, Paula Yates, Kym Wilson et al – all portrayed very unconvincingly – suggests that the makers may have been better served by focusing on just one or two key aspects of INXS’ career rather than squeeze everything into a tiny box.
INXS telemovie proving to be a mildly popular torrent.
Looking at about 100,000 combined (part 1&2) downloads.
@Andrew. The INXS telemovie also left out the JD Fortune-era. I can understand why they would do that but it’s essentially whitewashing the band’s history. It’s no longer really a biography rather a hagiography.
Did Nine persist with Schapell. did they learn nothing from last week?
