Olympics and cricket only win Nine silver in Sunday’s ratings
The sporting combo of one day cricket and the Winter Olympics wasn’t enough to win the TV ratings for Nine on Sunday.
Australia’s comfortable victory over West Indies averaged just under 1.1m for both the afternoon and primetime sessions in Brisbane.
And Nine’s coverage of the first day’s Olympic competition rated 910,000, behind both Castle and House on Seven and ten (although both started half an hour earlier).
Based on preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam, the night belonged to Seven:
 
	
I’m surprised no one is talking about how the Today show on Saturday was showing graphic footage of the luge competitor’s death (in repeat slo-mo, no less!). It was quickly dropped from the rest of the program. Disturbing.
