OMD’s Simon Davies adds senior audit bureau role
OMD’s print champion Simon Davies is to be the voice of media agencies on Australia’s auditing body.
Davies has in recent months called for greater transparency over audit numbers, warning that advertisers’ confidence was being eroded.
Davies has replaced Initiative boss Tracie Michael on the Audit Bureau of Circulations’ executive committee which steers the strategic direction of the ABC and oversees the day to day operations of the organisation.
He said: “The ABC has a long history of having excellent relationships with the advertising agency section of the media industry which I am proud to continue.”
He added: “Accountability for media spend has never been more important and ABC’s focus of delivering quality audited data remains vital. 2011 is shaping as a landmark year for the ABC with the current rule reviews for print media reporting and development of digital or tablet format reporting. I look forward to working with publishers and advertisers to bring the agency perspective to the discussions.”
The other four members are
