Optus satellite to carry ABC, SBS, Imparja and Southern Cross

Optus is to be the satellite provider for homes that cannot receive free-to-air channels from Southern Cross Media Group, ABC, SBS and Imparja Television when the analogue signal is switched off, the company said today. Last month Sunraysia was the first region in Australia to make the change.

The announcement:

Optus announced today that it has been awarded four multi-million dollar contracts by Australian broadcasters, Southern Cross Media Group, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) and Imparja Television to deliver next generation digital free-to-air television services via Optus Satellite across Australia.
