Origin Energy appoints new creative account holder
Special has confirmed it now holds the creative account for Origin Energy.
The group confirmed the news on Tuesday in a statement given to Mumbrella.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Origin,” Bec Stambanis, partner and CSO of Special Australia, said.
“We are thoroughly enjoying working alongside such a progressive and collaborative team with shared ambition and values.”
The account has moved across from M&C Saatchi Australia, who were first appointed by Origin in 2021, when the group took it over from TBWA Melbourne, who had chosen not to take part in the pitch.
However, Mumbrella understands that M&C Saatchi have not been taken off the account, rather than Special have joined Origin’s roster of agencies, which also includes Alt/Shift as its PR account holder.
TBWA Melbourne CEO, Kimberlee Wells, told Mumbrella at the time: “TBWA Melbourne enjoyed a great relationship with Origin Energy over the past five years. Whilst the partnership remains strong, we choose not to participate in the procurement process. We wish Origin every success with their new agency partner.”
Mumbrella has contacted M&C Saatchi and Origin for further comment.
