Paul B Kidd to join John Stanley for Weekends with John and Paul on 2GB and 4BC
Paul B Kidd and John Stanley are set to team up on Nine Radio’s 2GB and 4BC for a new program – Weekends with John and Paul.
The show will run on weekends from 2 – 6pm. This puts the program in the slot usually held by The Weekend Edition with Erin Molan and Natalie Peters. Molan is currently on a break over the summer radio period, but will return for the rugby league coverage, while Peters will continue in her usual role as Sydney news director for the business and as a fill-in radio host where required.

It will be interesting to see if his sensible, factual views in any way temper Paul B Kidd’s hysteria over climate change and his anti-Labor polemic

Very disapointed with the new line up of 2gb . The channel.9 take over not a good idea . I will miss George Moore i really enjoyed his show.

Agree with rita, been a loyal listener since early 90s. You keep chopping and changing shows to accommodate channel 9 staff. Find myself tuning out more and more. Not what it used to be.
At last channel 9 will bring 2gb a lot of rating losses.The bludger a. Jones thinks he deserves more time off than others when he is on air for 3 and 1/2 hours yet is only personally on air for approximately 2 and 1/4 hours. All the rest is ads!
John Stanley is on everywhere really getting tired of him actually. And very disappointed that they put Deb Night weekdays a noon, just can’t take to her at all. I was hoping that Jane Marwick would have continued at nights so much better than Stanley. Will really miss George and Paul doubt if weekend will ever be as good again.

Well done for bringing Chris Smith back but you have overlooked your best announcer in Luke Smith, surely a spot can be found for Luke, my favourite anyway.

Way too many changes to my liking…..You moved Mark Levy and Mark Riddell over to another show….you got rid of Chris Smith…….You got rid of Steve Price and now we have Deb Knight on a permanent shift as she was moved from the Today show……Deb is okay as a fill in, but not quite up to scratch ( in my opinion)…and now John Stanley is working 7 days a week……What happened to the money man…what did he do wrong He was also “moved on”…..I hope things settle down……because you will loose another listener if It doesn’t.
What a blunder getting rid of George and Paul. Glad though Chris Smith is back, how Paul will match with Chris is to be seen. You can never replace George and Paul they work so well together and their weekend program was so interesting, light and full of humour. Deb Knight not a good choice I switch off or listen to ABC Classics, find a slot for her on 9 she is better suited to TV. Weekends are now so boring, Now for me on weekends is surfing the net with online shopping. Love Alan Jones and Ray for goodness sake leave them alone.

Channel 9 continues to lose viewers with their lefty approach. Running 2GB is the death knell. Oh well, the George & Paul Show would have made interesting listening creating new climate change denial arguments. I needed a laugh – they made great teaching resources on the nature of ‘bias’.

George and Paul’s weekend program on 2UE (originally 6am – 12 midday) was a refreshing alternative to 2GB’s Garden Clinic.
2UE was the only talkback competitor to 2GB, but the Macquarie Network bought it, transferred George and Paul to 2GB and then killed 2UE off by making it a sports only station (as if AM radio needed more sports coverage !).
I also won’t be listening to 5 hours of Chris Smith droning away on weekends.
The John Stanley and Paul B Kidd program will only be a temporary fill in until 2GB starts the overbearing rugby league weekend coverage.
And why oh why are the news bulletins now called “9 News” (along with 9 news jingle) and not “2GB News” (with 2GB jingle) ?, just because Channel 9 owns 2GB ?. Really ?.
The amount of ads !. Half the air time is devoted to audio compressed (to make them sound louder) ads.
2GB has lost me as a listener.
I will now tune in to 2SM (Super Radio Network) permanently as it is really the only true talkback radio station in the area.

Just had to turn 4BC off boring other then Jones who else is there bring george and Paul please as for deb nice person but a boring so for me it is MrJones and no one else

Nine really have no clue about running a radio station like 2GB for its audience demographic. They’ve allowed Ross Greenwood to walk away from a loyal audience and are replacing him with a non-entity, and reduced the show by an hour; they’ve allowed the smart half of George and Paul to walk away; Deb Knight on afternoons is a charisma-free zone and won’t last, just like she didn’t click on the Today Show; having flicked Chris Smith a few months ago they’ve now resurrected him. The only good move was boning Steve Price who should’ve been put out to pasture long ago.
2GB took all the best on air talent from 2UE and have been using them to bolster their ratings and when that hasn’t worked they’ve connived to get rid of them. Bring back 2UE so we don’t have to listen to all these egotistical announcers who are more interested in their own voice and opinion. Alan Jones even answers his own questions when interviewing people. At least the announcers at 2UE gave callers air space to voice their opinions without cutting them off or talking over them.
