Paul Colgan departs as news.com.au editor, replaced by Luke McIlveen

The editor of news.com.au Paul ‘Colgo’ Colgan is the latest to see the News Limited roundabout spin, with Manly Daily editor Luke McIlveen replacing him in the role.

Colgo’s departure to the company’s network news desk came days after he told Mumbrella’s sister magazine Encore how happy he was in the role: “I’m really enjoying it. One of the things that will be important in the future is good managerial skills in the newsroom as well as good journalism. Constantly innovating and finding ways to lead development is the area I see myself going or the direction I’d like to go.”

News Limited editorial director Campbell Reid said of McIlveen’s appointment: “Luke has worked with energy, talent and distinction across a range of mastheads. He brings a wealth of experience in news, and understanding his audience, to this new role.”
