Pedestrian’s telco brand overload
Good to see that Telstra is sponsoring Pedestrian TV’s city guide.
And Telstra must have been delighted with the prominent slot Pedstrian gave the announcement.
Perhaps less so with the three ads for rival Virgin Mobile all over the page though.
Virgin Mobile signed a six figure, 12 month sponsorship deal with Pedestrian but their media agency forgot to ask for exclusivity. Who can blame Pedestrian for milking the telcos.
Same thing happened with Virgin and Vodafone during the same Member’s Lounge campaign on the site a while back, if I remember correctly, which I sometimes don’t.
Either way, agencies fault.
Nice attempt by Telstra to be fresh, but anyone in the know about Sydney culture in already subscribed to Two Thousand, which pretty much carries identical content to this guide, and a whole lot more.
Sneakily done by Pedestrian, good luck getting Virgin Mobile to resign though. Hardly sustainable business ethics is it?
Media agency fuckwittery – nice.
Despite all the bluster about auditing and service level agreements media agencies continue to invest heavily in unaudited sites like this on behalf of their clients.
I wonder who tipped you off on that one Tim?
It wasn’t your old mate (edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy) or friends from (edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy) by any chance was it?
Hi Tip Off,
Nope. Want to guess again?
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
