Perth’s 96FM joins national Kiis network and gets ‘Keeping it real’ positioning
The Australian Radio Network has rebranded its Perth station 96FM as part of the Kiis national network, with the new position of ‘Keeping it real’.
The release:
Australian Radio Network (ARN) is excited to announce the rebrand of Perth’s 96FM as it joins Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide as part of the KIIS national network.
The much-anticipated rebrand will breathe new life in the heritage station while ‘Keeping it Real’ by celebrating more of the music and entertainment that Perth loves.
“Perth, we love waking up to you in real life?” How did they wake up before?
Someone needs some PR training! 😀
That was a good idea… kill off one of the original stations for Perth to replace it with another iHeart Networked Generic station, reducing local content.
I can just see Kyle and Jackie O slotting in alongside Perths’ Best Rock.
Clearly someone from the east coast drove this change.
Sad day for Perth radio. There was a time 30 years ago when 96fm was the best station in WA with its knowledgeable announcers, great playlists, and commercial-free music programmes. Sadly all gone.
I remember the day 96fm# started. Still friends with some of the announcers who remain the best inc Bob Stuart, the late Bill Ali, Kev Newman, Phil Lear et al. Sad to see the best station in Australia laid to rest.
Tragedy.
